Absolute Health

Absolute Health is a comprehensive company paid Health Insurance Scheme for 150-1,000 employees.

Whether designing your Scheme from scratch, or transferring from another insurer, we aim to be able to match your objectives and requirements as closely as possible so you have precisely what you require.

You may wish to consider introducing different levels of cover and allowing employees access to the Scheme based on varying levels of underwriting or benefits. A greater population often leads to a greater degree of protection and more certainty in claims expenditure.

• Absolute Health has been designed to be flexible, whilst maintaining a comprehensive list of core benefits that you would expect to receive from a health insurance package;
• The Extended Benefit Options allow you to complement the health insurance benefits. For example, include Remote GP Services or long-term (chronic) conditions benefit or Cash Plan benefits, such as prescription charges, optical and dental treatment;
• Members have access to Healthcare Pathways to aid faster diagnosis and treatment for key issues, often most associated with absence from work. The Healthcare Pathways avoid the need for an initial GP referral. Starting the journey is as simple as phoning the WPA helpdesk or pre-authorising your claim using the WPA Health app.
• Take greater control of your premium by choosing a Shared Responsibility® or Excess level.

Corporate Deductible

WPA's Corporate Deductible offers an award-winning alternative to a traditional insured arrangement. For most large companies, the basic claims costs are predictable year-on-year - so why insure what is essentially a known risk? WPA's Corporate Deductible arrangement enables you to take the basic claims costs as a large corporate excess - dramatically reducing the overall premium. Not only will your scheme be more cost-efficient, you will continue to benefit from the protection offered by a traditional insurance contract.

• Under a traditional fully insured arrangement the total premium is fixed, so in a low claiming year the insurer profits from any surplus;
• WPA's Corporate Deductible enables you to take the expected claims costs as a large corporate excess - dramatically reducing the overall premium;
• With a Corporate Deductible, if claims finalise below the expected claims fund, any surplus funds held in the account belong to the customer;
• If claims finalise above the expected claims fund the customer continues to meet the cost of claims until they have reached the agreed Corporate Deductible (typically 10-20%).
• Once the Corporate Deductible has been reached any further liability is picked up by WPA through the insurance policy.

Corporate Healthcare Trust

A Corporate Healthcare Trust (CHT) is a cost-effective way for large companies (typically 500+ employees) to provide private medical benefits to its members. It's a funding vehicle that's approved by HMRC and it typically works out around 10% less expensive than the equivalent insured arrangement.

Companies covering over 500 employees on a healthcare scheme typically see claims spend as largely predictable year on year and as such, traditional insurance schemes where the entire claims spend is insured may not be the optimum solution.

Many companies choose to set up a Corporate Healthcare Trust arrangement whereby a specialist administration company charges a fee to act on the company's behalf, including running the customer helpdesk, authorisation of claims, processing of invoices and dedicated account management support.

• Aggregate or Specific Stop Loss can be purchased through WPA to limit claims exposure at either a percentage of the total claims fund, or a monetary value per individual claim respectively.
• Ultimate flexibility for employers as the benefits provided can be entirely bespoke to meet their individual needs;
• The claims fund is not paid to the insurer as part of a premium it remains the Trust's money. This means that if there is a low claiming year, any surplus claims fund in the client account still belongs to the Trust and can be utilised to meet the cost of claims in a future scheme year;
• As the scheme is self-funded rather than insured, IPT is not applicable (traditional schemes see IPT charged at 12% of the overall premium). VAT is applied, but to the administration fee only.
