Account Manager – Hospital Management

Starting salary £29,500 and generous benefits. Full time, 37 hours per week.
Based in Taunton, Somerset, close to J25 of the M5.

The role

The aim of this role is to proactively manage and strengthen relationships between WPA and hospitals, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills while remaining confident and firm in decision-making. The successful applicant will act as the day-to-day contact, liaising with personnel at all levels to manage both internal and external queries effectively.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Maintain positive working relationships through regular contact with Hospitals assigned. Hold regular remote and face to face meetings or communicate by email, in writing or verbally on a frequent basis.
  • Review and negotiate medical treatment costs.
  • Manage complex billing queries escalated - mediating customer complaints to satisfactory resolution.
  • Take ownership of hospital outstanding invoice payment queries, working closely with external stakeholders to investigate, negotiate and resolve overdue balances, mitigating financial risk and supporting positive long-term partnerships.
  • Identify realistic system/process enhancements focusing on efficiency gains that will enhance our relationships with the hospitals.
  • Collaborate with all departments across WPA to review high-value invoices and liaise with hospitals, ensuring processes run smoothly across all areas.

Ability to Commute: Taunton, TA1 2PE (required), Work Location: Office based, with some hybrid working opportunities on a non-contractual basis.
