Walk this May with WPA

This May, WPA are aiming to make the most of National Walking Month by encouraging our staff, business partners, local community and members to get outside and get walking.

As a company we are aiming to walk a combined 5000 miles, raising £5,000 in aid of the British Heart Foundation in the process and we'd be delighted if you would join in. Why should we be walking more?

Physical benefits of walking include increased cardiovascular fitness, improved bone and muscle strength and reduced risk of high blood pressure and strokes.

Studies have also shown that regular walking has a host of mental wellbeing benefits, including elevation of your mood and reduced levels of stress and anxiety. We also enjoy better quality sleep and, what's more, if we walk and talk, we're more likely to open-up and have positive and constructive conversations.

Walking is a socially inclusive and accessible activity and can integrate those in your community who may feel lonely or isolated!
