Support for bereavement

Losing someone close to you is never easy, and we understand this can be a difficult time. You may need to let us know about their passing, close their account, or help manage their policy and finances. We'll do everything we can to make the process as simple as possible.

When you contact us, we may need some documents:

You can get in touch with us in whichever way feels most comfortable. We understand this is a sensitive time, so we'll make sure to use your preferred method of contact for any future communication.

Supporting someone with their WPA policy

If you care for a family member or someone close to you and would like to help manage their policy, we want to make things as straightforward as possible.

If you need to make changes or discuss the policy on their behalf, the policyholder will need to give us permission to speak with you during the call.

If they're unable to do this, or you need to talk to us without them present, there are other ways you can be added as an authorised contact; for example, through a Power of Attorney or deputyship. You can find helpful guidance on managing someone's affairs from Carers UK.

If you already have a Power of Attorney, deputyship or similar authority, please email a copy of the document to our customer support team so we can record this on the customer's account.
