Why WPA are different

To put it simply, we're serious about health insurance.

Consultants' opinion of WPA

When it comes to your treatment, we prioritise clinical best practice over commerciality.

Purpose and principles

We're not hampered by the demands of shareholders motivated to make a profit, meaning we're free to act differently from the rest. We don't set ourselves sales targets. Instead, we focus on the service we provide our members. We're all trained first and foremost to listen. To ask questions with empathy, respect and understanding. To give the best advice. To never rush. To care.

This focus on customer service has seen us settle some £0.8bn in claims in the last ten years, with only 10 FOS adjudications against us.

Our policy is our
promise to you

Everyone hopes they'll never need to use their health insurance. But should the worst happen, and you need to make a claim, you expect your insurance provider to be there for you. When you take out one of our policies, you can be confident that we'll deliver on our promise.

All our members are free to choose where, when and who provides them with treatment. Our continued investment in innovative technologies lets us proactively manage claims, so you have one less thing to worry about.

Whatever you need, we'll be there to help.

Our members trust us to deliver on our promise, and rate our claim service as 4.8 out of 5

Data recorded between 1st July 2022 and 30th June 2023. 16,614 responses received.

All our members are free to choose where, when and who provides them with treatment.

In the UK, we benefit from one of the best healthcare systems in the world. But sometimes you need more, like avoiding long waiting lists for surgery or getting access to cancer treatments not readily available on the NHS. You want the freedom to choose what's best for you. Some health insurers limit where, when and who can treat you. We believe that's wrong. It's your health, so you should be in control.
