Our heritage dates back to 1901, and as a not-for-profit organisation we are one of the UK's most long-standing and respected Health Insurers. Continually striving to outshine the competition, we have won many awards for our excellent Customer Service and advanced use of technology. In 2021, for the second year in a row, WPA won "Health Insurance Provider of the Year" at the Moneyfacts Consumer Awards. In October 2021 we were voted “Best Customer Service” at the Health and Protection Awards, voted for exclusively by the independent Intermediaries and brokers who work with all of the UK’s health insurers and in November 2021, we won “Best Healthcare Provider” at the Corporate Adviser Awards. In March 2021, we were recognised as "Employer of the Year 2021" at the Somerset Business Awards. Our ethos is to treat others as we would wish to be treated ourselves, this includes our customers, employees and our local community.
We continue to thrive and as a result of our success and growth we are looking to expand our Centre of Clinical Excellence (CCE) team. The CCE team has a variety of medical expertise and experience within it and this is used to provide exceptional support to our customers who are undergoing complex treatment, which will involve liaising with a range of Healthcare Professionals both in the NHS and private sectors in a wide range of medical specialities and reviewing cases with WPA’s Chief Medical Officer and Medical Advisers where necessary.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a clinical background and has front line experience who still wishes to use their experience and make a difference, albeit in a slightly different environment from maybe the NHS or a care background - or someone who has a solid medical background through their academic studies but are looking for a career where they can continue to develop and apply this knowledge.
Core working hours will primarily be Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5pm and 9am to 5pm on Friday.
