Switching from another insurer

If you have a private medical insurance policy with another insurer and you wish to switch to WPA, we may accept your application and apply your current personal medical exclusions or Moratorium terms, whichever is applicable.

The following criteria applies:

  • Available to new customers to WPA who are aged 65 and under and have previously completed Moratorium or Full Medical Underwriting and there has been no break since underwriting.
  • A ´Switch´ application form must be fully completed which requires you to let us know about some additional medical information.
  • You must send a copy of your current Certificate of Registration showing that you completed either Moratorium Underwriting (and under what terms) or Full Medical Underwriting (and what personal medical exclusions were applied), the level of cover and the cover period (please note that there must be no break in insurance when transferring from your current Policy).
  • Upon receipt of the application form and copy of your previous Certificate of Registration we will advise what, if any, personal exclusions that may apply to your WPA Policy.

IMPORTANT: Please do not cancel your existing cover until we accept your application and confirm your full terms in writing.
