1XS - Savings Case Study
Mr M´s Case Study
Mr M and his wife are both 30 and live in London. They want comprehensive, no snags, joint cover.
They currently have comprehensive cover with a leading insurer and pay £192.50 per month (£2,310.10 per year) with no excess. With 1XS their premium would be £30.92 per month (£371.04 per year) and a combined excess of £1,500. *
With 1XS they will be responsible for up to £1,500 for initial treatment costs. But, that´s not per person or per claim, that´s for both of them. That way they know that whatever happens their maximum liability for any eligible treatment is £1,500.
Like most of us, Mr M and his wife rarely suffer serious illness, so they rarely claim. If the very worst did happen they have comprehensive cover and would pay £1,871.04 (£371.04 premium, plus £1,500 excess) – a saving of £439.06.
Good news: they are not penalised with higher premiums because they make a claim.
And that´s just in the first year!
