Corporate Providental - What is covered?


Shared Responsibility applies to all the benefits listed. You are required to pay 25% of each admissible claim up to a maximum of £500 and WPA will pay 75% of each admissible claim (except where you see this symbol *).

Once you have paid £500 under any benefit, WPA will pay 100% of all admissible claims until your next renewal date. Please note there is an annual maximum amount payable by WPA for each benefit as shown on the benefit table.

Corporate Providental is an annual contract of insurance.

General Dental Treatment † ‡ Any treatment performed by a registered dental surgeon or registered hygienist in general practice, including routine check-ups. Up to £250 per year Covers treatment not classed as an emergency, injury or defined oral problem. Payment for claims over £120 will be made in line with the WPA Dental Schedule. There is a 3 month qualifying period before this cover commences.
Dental Emergencies † ‡ Any incidence of acute pain, swelling or a dental haemorrhage requiring an emergency dental appointment. Up to £250 per course of treatment, maximum £1,000 per year Payment will be made in line with the WPA Dental Schedule, where treatment is required in an emergency. There is a 14 day qualifying period before this cover commences.
Dental Injuries Any dental treatment following a dental injury. In-patient and out-patient treatment for:
Specialist consultations, Consultant Oral or Maxillo-Facial Surgeon´s fees, Anaesthetist´s fees, hospital charges, authorised follow-up treatment from a dentist.
Up to £20,000 Covers treatment where injury has been caused by an external blow to the face, teeth or jaw. Payment will be made in line with the WPA Dental Schedule.

This benefit is provided following a dental emergency appointment (see above) or attendance at an Accident & Emergency Department. Evidence of this will be required.
* Cash benefit of £200 per night if you are staying in a NHS hospital for treatment.   Covers up to 10 nights a year. Treatment must be as a result of a dental injury (a direct extra oral impact).
Cost of a parent´s stay in hospital when accompanying a child.   Covers up to 10 nights a year. Child must be staying in hospital as a result of a dental injury.
Defined Oral Problems In-patient and out-patient treatment for:
Specialist consultations, Consultant Oral or Maxillo-Facial Surgeon´s fees, Anaesthetist´s fees, hospital charges, authorised follow-up treatment from a dentist.
Up to £10,000 per year for the following defined oral problems:
‣ Treatment for oral cancer including reconstructive plastic surgery;
‣ Treatment of cyst, odontome or tumour of the mouth or jaw;
‣ Treatment for conditions of the salivary glands;
‣ Surgical removal of roots;
‣ Surgery to the temporomandibular joint.
Covers the services of a recognised Consultant Oral/Maxillo-Facial Surgeon.
* Cash benefit of £200 per night if you are staying in a NHS hospital as a NHS patient for eligible treatment.   Covers up to 10 nights a year. (Treatment must be required as a result of a defined oral problem).
Cost of a parent's stay in hospital when accompanying a child.   Covers up to 10 nights a year. Child must be staying in hospital as a result of a defined oral problem.

† Benefit is available for the removal of wisdom teeth, only if the extraction is undertaken in general practice in a dentist's chair.
‡ Children under 18 years old are entitled to free treatment under the terms and conditions of the NHS. The benefits indicated by the ‡ are therefore not included for this age group.
