Private health insurance provides funding for elective, short term, specialist care that is provided with curative intent. This means that there is reasonable expectation that it will restore you to the same or possibly even better health than you enjoyed before treatment.

Health insurance does not cover long term management of incurable conditions and is not a replacement for the NHS.
