Executive and Group Legal Secretary

Salary: Market rate, dependent upon experience
Hours: WPA welcomes flexible working, ideally 37 hours

A rare opportunity for a Personal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join WPA, a leading not for profit health insurer. Experience is vital and the ideal candidate will have a legal background and a basic understanding of the Companies Act and Companies House filing requirements.

You will be a key part of the support team for Executive Directors and Group Legal Department with day to day activities including file management, diary administration, audio/digital dictation, travel arrangements, fielding telephone calls and dealing with correspondence.

This is a perfect opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and discrete individual who is able to work independently and efficiently yet also work as part of a team reporting to the Executive Directors and Group Legal Department.

Customer Support Officer (CSO)

Salary: c£19k Pro Rata (£9.86 per hour)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Location: Taunton

These roles are the main point of contact for our customers, answering their telephone calls and handling the general administration of their policies. WPA is known for our customer service and we believe that our customers deserve the best service possible. This is where the CSO role is crucial because you have to be great at talking and listening to our customers. We treat our customers as we would want to be treated ourselves, so building a good relationship with them is key. Every customer deserves to receive a quality service and at WPA, we understand that every customer is different. These positions are primarily Monday to Friday (office hours are 8am to 7pm), but some Saturday morning cover (9:00am - 12:00 noon) will be required on a rotational basis.

In summary, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Desire to be part of a team where the delivery of excellent customer service is key and always willing to go the extra mile;
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a professional telephone manner;
  • Able to communicate with customers on a varied number of issues and having the ability to be empathetic is hugely important;
  • The right attitude, you must never go home at the end of the day thinking you could have done more;
  • Able to learn new systems and processes quickly in order to be able to make an immediate impact to team;
  • Attention to detail and excellent listening skills with the ability to take and relay information accurately;
  • Good knowledge of IT systems including email, internet and word;
  • Highly organised and has the ability to achieve targets to a high standard;
  • 5 GCSE´s (or equivalent) at C or above to include Maths and English.

Business Development Consultant

Salary: c£21K-£24K
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: 1 year fixed term
Location: Taunton

We are looking for a confident and dynamic individual to join WPA´s Business Development Division as a Business Development Consultant focusing on new SME business.

The main purpose of this role is to offer support, training and advice to both WPA Appointed Representatives (AR´s) and intermediaries/brokers, in relation to WPA´s small to medium sized company paid products (SME´s) and new business processes. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership for intermediary interactions, quotations and applications. Training will be provided.

The successful candidate will also need to be able to work with minimum support and be able to deal with customers and intermediaries.

This role will include:

  • Supporting AR´s and intermediaries with SME new business opportunities, including establishing the background to new business and undertaking follow ups on quotes submitted
  • Providing training on WPA SME products and processes
  • Checking SME Group and employee applications
  • Producing and issuing quotes
  • Establishing strong relationships with AR´s and intermediaries through gaining their trust and confidence in your knowledge and experience of WPA products, pricing and processes
  • Maintaining an awareness and understanding of market practices and competitor products

The successful candidates will need to be prepared to travel within the UK and demonstrate proven skills in managing themselves.
